My Journey

My passion for all things women’s and children’s health and wellness was born out a long road to find wellness and balance for myself.

In my twenties I struggled with weight gain, skin issues, gut health issues, depression, fatigue, and I spent countless hours, days, weeks, which all turned into years, applying what I know now to have been band aids on symptoms while the root cause of my health struggles alluded me.

In my thirties it was much of the same, but the sad and frustrating reality of fertility struggles hit me in a way no other health issue thus far had. It was this crisis that drove me to seek alternative healthcare, and with the help and guidance of very qualified functional medicine, TCM and naturopathic practitioners, I was able to uncover the root cause of my infertility as well as many of my other imbalances and health issues. The gift that these healers were able to give me was not only the life of my beautiful daughter, but an understanding of the inner workings of my unique body and what I needed to do to heal it.

Coming to the other side of this time in my life and feeling what it felt like to have a normally functioning body sparked a fire in me. I needed to know more, and I knew that I needed to help others avoid a similar long arduous journey that was my own. I knew that it shouldn’t take 20 years of trial and error to come to a place of balanced wellness.

I spent the next almost 10 years with my head in every nutrition book/blog/science journal I could get my hands on. This thirst and drive lead to exponential learning and my deep desire for an even clearer understanding of the science and principles I was discovering lead me to enroll with the Institute For Integrative Nutrition in March of 2018. During my year with IIN I learned new principles in many areas of health and wellness as well as environmental and economic impacts on health. I was able to build upon the knowledge in the areas of nutrition I had already gained in my previous years studying independently, and it was a profoundly satisfying year of learning.

Now today, as a certified Holistic Nutrition Consultant and Counselor, a wife and a mother of two amazing and beautiful kiddos, I am still in a constant state of researching and learning. To know nutrition science is to know that you always have to keep your nose to the grind to remain current and relevant in your work. It is an ever changing and evolving area of science, and it remains a joy every day to be immersed in the learning and growing. I live for sharing my knowledge to help women and mothers discover and reach their own states of balanced wellness for themselves and for their families.
