In this new age of COVID-19, we ALL need extra support for managing the increased stress we're experiencing. The fear, uncertainty, loneliness, depression, general anxiety, boredom, etc, etc that we face every day is unprecedented and will likely be present in and in need of 'management' for the foreseeable future.
Along with the need for the right tools to manage stress and the emotions it invokes is the need for proper sleep. Sleep and successful stress management go hand in hand, but so often when one is presenting challenges, the other follows suit.
Having all the right tools as well as understanding the importance of prioritizing healthy sleep and stress management will give you a leg up on navigating the future as we now see it to be. We all want to be the best versions of ourselves now more than ever, and the information I'll provide in this talk will set you on the right path!
This workshop will cover the following topics:
- What effects chronic stress and poor sleep have on our bodies and how it triggers inflammation, poor decision making, hormone imbalances, dampened immunity and more.
- An in-depth examination of the 'stress response' and the ways in which it's been triggered throughout history and how those triggers have changed over time.
- All the reasons why the COVID-19 pandemic is presenting difficult and new challenges to the coping mechanisms and tools we've traditionally used for stress management
- New ways to manage all the emotions and stress we're facing as well as how to better utilize the tools we already have at our disposal.
- The power of thought and how to harness energy and positivity to bolster our resiliency and productivity.
- Proper sleep; what is optimal, what 'sleep hygiene' is and how to create a healthy sleep environment.
- Natural and artificial light exposure and technology as it relates to our circadian rhythm (our sleep/wake cycle).
- Key supplements and foods for promoting restful sleep and for managing the stress response.
- The importance of daily exercise and time in nature as they relate to sleep and stress management. I'll also outline strategies for how to implement these practices in a safe and effective way.
This will be a Zoom led workshop. To gain access to the meeting and receive payment instructions, please submit a form via the contact section on this site.
